Louis-Joseph Caron L’Écuyer

Entrepreneur in residence - Tech

Louis-Joseph graduated from ÉTS (École de technologie supérieure) in electrical engineering with a specialization in robotics. In 2006, he co-founded the company Kinova, with the mission of democratizing robotics in the field of assistance for people with reduced autonomy. This initial achievement enabled the company to subsequently address the needs for robotization in medical and industrial markets.

It is thanks, among other things, to his in-depth expertise in various engineering fields enabling the design of complex robotic systems, that Kinova was able to develop, produce, and commercialize 5 robotic arms for medical, professional, and industrial markets.

Throughout his professional career, Louis-Joseph has deepened his expertise in the development of robotic products and high technology, business strategy, operational management, as well as team transformation and intellectual property management.

As an executive leader committed to collaboration and transparency, he has brought operational rigor to engineering and production groups, growing them from a few employees to over 150 engineers, technicians, and assemblers, while fostering creativity and innovation.

Having demonstrated a strong interest in contributing to the high-tech entrepreneurial ecosystem, Louis-Joseph supports entrepreneurs at Centech to ensure alignment of their products with market needs, to support their development, and to operationalize their ideas into marketable products.
