However, like antique stores, there are many <\/span>different types<\/span> and <\/span>it\u2019s<\/span> difficult to choose the perfect one from the wide array of available options.<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\n\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nIn this article, <\/span>we\u2019ll<\/span> look at the different databases that are available, the specifics of each and answer the age-old question: what is the best startup database?\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span>\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n

A database of startups<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\r\n \r\n\r\nBy definition, a startup database is a platform that features <\/span>a long list<\/span> of startups and scale-ups. You can <\/span>generally find<\/span> several pieces of information about these startups, such as the company creation date, the number of employees, financial information, the investors, <\/span>etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\r\n\r\n\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nYou can use different filters and criteria to search these databases. The main advantage of startup databases is being able to access such <\/span>a long list<\/span> of startups in one place.<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\r\nThere are an impressive number of startups and, by extension, potential solutions. One of the main ones is related to the information that is available in the databases.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\r\nIn reality, startups<\/span> evolve rapidly, so <\/span>it\u2019s<\/span> very difficult<\/span> to keep the information in the databases up to date. <\/span>That\u2019s<\/span> why <\/span>it\u2019s<\/span> important to supplement and cross-check the information via other digital channels, such as LinkedIn or the startup\u2019s website, or by contacting the companies directly.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>","2cols_link_l":"","2cols_btn_1":"","2cols_btn_2":"","2cols_title_r":"","2cols_content_r":"

Other disadvantages include the limited <\/span>additional<\/span> features that the databases offer, such as options to rate or recommend startups.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\r\nIt should be noted that these features apply <\/span>rather rudimentary<\/span> selection criteria and only use the information that is in the database, which is usually insufficient. In any case, <\/span>it\u2019s<\/span> preferable to have an evaluation done by a person and a recommendation made by experts in the field, such as open innovation consultants.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>

There are several that stand out, such as Crunchbase, Pitchbook, CB Insights, <\/strong><\/span>Tracxn<\/span> or <\/span>DealRoom<\/span><\/strong>, but their performance depends on your needs.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\nThese databases may fit your needs depending on the geolocation and maturity of the startups <\/span>you\u2019re<\/span> looking for, your budget, your industry or the number of startups that fit your search.
