Centech creates a new general management committee

Dedicated to deeptech companies with high growth potential, Centech is a world-class business incubator and supports the development and transformation of technological projects into business successes on the national and international scene.

Each year, more than 100 companies are supported at Centech thanks to its team of entrepreneurs in residence and its large network of partners, experts, investors, etc.

With its ambition to become one of the world’s 10 most efficient incubators, Centech is expanding and restructuring its team, notably with a new general management committee.

This management committee is composed of 4 people, including Richard Chénier, General Manager of Centech, and 3 members who will report directly to him, starting February 1st, 2021.

Marjorick Foisy joins the Centech team as Director of Programs.

Marjorick holds a Bachelor of Administration from HEC Montréal and an international MBA from the University of Ottawa. She has over twenty years of experience during which she has developed a strong expertise in managing and developing strategic partnerships, leading teams and managing operations. She has worked in various positions in parapublic organizations, SMEs and large multinational corporations in Canada and the United States. Previously, she was Regional Manager at CHEP Canada. Then, she joined Montréal International as Director of Business Development and Director of Municipal Partner Relations and Operations.

As Director of Programs at Centech, Marjorick will ensure the execution and smooth operation of Centech’s Acceleration and Propulsion programs.

The Acceleration program supports 90 technology startups with 3 cohorts per year. This program allows entrepreneurs to validate their business model, specify their product to be placed on the market and present their project to investors.

For each cohort, the highest potentials are invited to join the Propulsion program for a maximum of 2 years. This incubation program allows companies to structure their company, accelerate development time and develop a product ready to be distributed on the market.

Marjorick will be supported by a team of 8 regular employees and about one hundred collaborators.

Julian Lucchesi is appointed Director of  Strategic partnerships.

Graduates in engineering from L’École Nationale Supérieure de Mécanique et d’Aérotechnique (France) and from École de Technologie Supérieure (Canada), Julian began his career in Montreal at Pratt&Whitney Canada as a digital project coordinator. Then, Julian joined Akka Group North America, a global leader in engineering consulting to evolve as business development manager.

His experiences in sales and account management offered him the opportunity to join Centech, as Strategic partnerships Lead.

As Director of Strategic partnerships, Julian will ensure external relations and business development at Centech.

With a team of 8 persons, this department includes the Collision Lab, Centech’s open innovation hub, academic relations, communications, events, data management and the management of Montreal Studio of École de Design de Nantes.

In addition, a new ‘International Relations’ department has been created to accelerate the international growth of companies.

Martin Enault is appointed Lead Entrepreneur in Residence.

With nearly 20 years of experience in the entrepreneurship and event industry, Martin Enault was co-founder and CEO of Intellitix, the first company in the world to use RFID technology for access control and payment during major events. Then, he joined C2 Montreal as COO and then CEO Asia-Pacific of C2 International.

Prior to joining Centech in 2020 as Acceleration Program Lead Entrepreneur in Residence, Martin served as COO of Félix & Paul Studios.

As Lead Entrepreneur in Residence, Martin will coordinate the squad of Entrepreneurs and Investors in Residence who support admitted compagnies in the Acceleration and Propulsion programs: Steve Arless and Jean-Pierre Robert (Medtech), Isabelle Bettez, Manon Desmarais, Daniel Drouet, Dominic Gagnon and Maxime Julien (Tech).
